Lahore City Cricket Association will train and groom young cricketers from Balochistan by providing them all the necessary facilities by placing them in different clubs. This was stated by President, LCCA, Khawaja Nadim Ahmed while talking to a delegation of the Sports Writers Association of Balochistan which called on him here on Wednesday. Rana Irfan led the five members delegation which apprised the LCCA Chief the problems being faced by upcoming cricketers from Balochistan in cricket coaching and training. Kh Nadim briefed them on the working of the LCCA and the support of its all three affiliated zones in bettering club cricket. The delegation members praised the working of LCCA and termed it a model body among all the regional bodies for its efforts for promoting cricket at early level.

“ The services of LCCA are available for the young cricketers of Balochistan and we will mobilize our all available resources for providing training to the cricketers from all parts of the Balochistan “,said the LCCA chief, himself a former first class cricketer.

He said LCCA will welcome young cricketers from Balochistan , specially from Quetta to place them in various local clubs so that they should learn the finer points of the game under the able guidance of LCCA coaches besides featuring in local club matches to get the match temperament and experience.

“ Balochistan is the province where limited cricket facilities are available and their young cricketers have lesser chance to get proper training and participating in quality club cricket “,said Kh Nadim adding “ it is the dire need to help Balcohistan to revive and strengthen their club cricket and LCCA services will play its due role in this regard.”

Senior Vice President, Balochistan Sports Writers Association, Nasim Hameed put up the proposal that a T-20 tournament featuring all the teams of the regional cricket association , FATA and Gilgit Biltistan be organized in April next year in Quetta to foster brother unity among the regional cricket bodies.

LCCA President accepted the proposal and said he will forward it to the Pakistan Cricket Board for necessary approval and getting their assistance. “ We will be providing all out help for the proposed tournament and we will be working in close liaison of PCB in this regard “,he added.

The delegation members said there was no dearth of cricket talent in Balochistan and cricket was equally popular even in the far flung areas of the province where the youth has a special passion for the sport . “ It is quite unfortunate that the talent is being wasted due to lack of coaching facilities and infrastructure and it is the duty of all the regional cricket bodies of the country to lend hand to Balochistan for strengthening its club cricket .
